Funded by the State under the League’s Community Action Agency (CAA) designation in 2001, the Centers, located in Garland, Irving and Pleasant Grove provide services that enable families and individuals whose income is at or below 125% poverty guidelines to move toward “self-reliance” and out of poverty. Services provided by these centers are:

o Utility payments
o Mortgage and rental assistance
o Outreach activities and workshops
o Food and gasoline vouchers
o Counseling and budget management
o Tax preparation through the VITA program
o Back to school supplies fair
o Toys and gift vouchers
o GED computer/software training
