Education Department
preparing families for success

It is a truism that education is the key to success and not just survival. Education is not only the first step to a better job, it is the key to understanding the world and one’s role within it. The Urban League of Greater Dallas realizes that our school system cannot do it all. Therefore, in partnership with the Dallas Independent School District, the Dallas Housing Authority, area colleges, corporate supporters and the community at large, the Urban League of Greater Dallas has developed programs that enable our youth and their families to reach their full potential, while living up to their community and civic responsibilities. These programs include:

o GED Preparation, Adult Basic Education o Family Circle - (parenting, life skills) o Tutoring assistance - (math boot camp) o Get $mart - (financial literacy) o 100 Fellows - (11th & 12th grade high school students---academic, technical and life skills enhancement program for) o Project Ready – (9th & 10th grade high school students---academic, technical and life skills enhancement programs)

Our programs are designed to address specific academic, social and career barriers that affect youth and their families.

Take a look around our web site to see how you can get involved.
