In an effort to more efficiently operate two important programs, the League combined the services into one department, Residential/Senior Services. We recognize that older citizens are faced with a myriad of challenges including, but not limited to, a need to supplement their income and for many, the responsibility of raising their grand-children. Our seniors/grandparents program provides the support and resources necessary for our senior caregivers. In addition, under a contract with Southwest Housing/Cascade, we provided educational, technical, life skills and social services to residents of Mission Trails and Sierra Vista. Services are as follows:
"Aging Well and Staying Independent"
We recognize that older citizens represent the greatest authority, wisdom, work and life experiences. Yet this segment of our population is the most neglected. Older Citizens are faced with a myriad of challenges such as income and financial protection, health and the responsibility of being the caregiver or having to raise their grandchildren just to name a few.
Our Aging Well/Staying Independent program provides the support services and resources necessary so our older citizens can maintain a healthy lifestyle on aging well to stay independent viable members of our community.

o Employment, GED and other services to hurricane evacuees o Support services to Seniors and Grandparents Resource Group o Tax Preparation o “Back on Your Feet” Entrepreneurial Program o Housing and case management services to homeless veterans o Benefits and check-ups to seniors o Home Equity Conversion Mortgages o Holiday, food and toy assistance o Job placement assistance o Technology training
