On Saturday, August 28, 2010, the League will host its annual Gala. This event will recognize milestones in Urban League history, the National Urban League Centennial Celebration and the 43rd anniversary of the Dallas affiliate. Building on the success of our previous efforts and understanding the present and future needs of area industries and citizens, the League will also launch Phase II of the Urban Leagues’ expansion program, the construction of a 50,000 square foot Trades/Technical Skills Training Center located next to the League’s headquarters in Oak Cliff. Being leveraged as part of the larger Lancaster Re-development Project, the League’s expansion plans underscore it as an agent of positive change and growth in the Southern Sector of Dallas.

The Urban League will honor Rev. George Pryor, Pastor New Birth MBC, Floyd Williams, Verizon, Beverly Bussey, Bussey Trucking for their longstanding support of the League and advocacy on behalf of the citizens in our community.
